Can you cut 1 Tonne of carbon pollution out of your life?
Take the challenge1 Million Women had the opportunity to see Naomi Klein at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas last year and we thought this speech of hers was too good not to share.
In her empowering address, she builds a connection between climate change and capitalism as the root problem (no shocks there). Klein highlights the real possibility of displaced populations due to climate change and tells the story of a small island nation that has been time and time again pillaged by the climate agenda.
This speech stands in the context of her latest book "This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate" which debuted at #5 on the New York Times bestseller list in September 2014. The publication subsequently received the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction and was a shortlisted nominee for the 2015 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing. This Changes Everything has also been made into a documentary.
Naomi Klein is a Canadian author, filmmaker and activist and it best known for her book "No Logo", and "The Shock Doctrine".
